Meet Emma

I first fell in love with jewellery making whilst I was studying Jewellery & Silversmithing at University in my early twenties. I went on to have two children and a long career working as a Social Worker, before coming back to jewellery making when my children flew the nest.

Between March and December every year you’ll find me at different artisan markets across North Wales. Follow me on Instagram or Facebook to keep up to date with where I will be.

When I’m not making jewellery, you can find me walking in the Welsh mountains, drinking lots of peppermint tea and spending time with my family and friends.

A little bit about my brand...

The name Ume is inspired by the plum blossom, also known as the Ume blossom. Plum blossoms are the first flowers to appear in the early spring in Japan, and often when there is still snow on the ground in China, making them a symbol of perseverance and hope.

For me, spring is a time for new beginnings and the name Ume resonates with me for this reason. Making the decision to turn my jewellery making hobby into a full time business was a new beginning for me and I had to persevere with it for some time.
