Meet Emma
Emma first fell in love with jewellery making whilst she was studying Jewellery & Silversmithing at University in her early twenties. She went on to have two children and a long career working as a Social Worker, before coming back to jewellery making when her children flew the nest.
Between March and December every year you’ll find her at different artisan markets across North Wales. Follow her on Instagram or Facebook to keep up to date with where she will be.
When she's not making jewellery, you can find her walking in the Welsh mountains, drinking lots of peppermint tea and spending time with her family and friends.
A little bit about my brand...
The name Ume is inspired by the plum blossom, also known as the Ume blossom. Plum blossoms are the first flowers to appear in the early spring in Japan, and often when there is still snow on the ground in China, making them a symbol of perseverance and hope.
For Emma, spring is a time for new beginnings and the name Ume resonates with her for this reason. Making the decision to turn her jewellery making hobby into a full time business was a new beginning for Emma and she had to persevere with it for some time.
